Features to know about

Smooth Ride Without the Bounce: Rubber Spring Suspension Absorbs Shock

Rough roads don’t have to mean a rough ride. This suspension uses AEON rubber jounce and rebound springs to soak up road shock and smooth out bumps. Together they control bounce, sway, and body roll so your trailer stays stable whether it’s loaded heavy or running empty. The setup delivers steady handling and keeps your cargo riding safe mile after mile.

Extra Clearance Without Raising the Deck: No Axle Beam to Hang Low

Traditional axles hang below the frame, cutting into ground clearance. This axle-less design removes the beam entirely so nothing drags underneath. The standard-height spindles keep your deck height the same while opening up space under the frame for plumbing, tanks, or rough-road travel. It’s a simple way to protect what’s under your trailer and make off-pavement towing easier.

Universal Fit for Custom Builds: Bolts to Any Trailer Frame Width

Building a new trailer or replacing an odd-size axle is easier with this system. Each of the two suspension units bolts directly to the trailer frame, eliminating the need for exact hub-face or spring-center measurements. A built-in hole takes a 2"x2" steel cross tube (not included) if you want to add extra frame support. It’s a flexible setup that fits single- and tandem-axle trailers rated up to 3,500 lbs.

Strong, Low-Maintenance Setup: E-Z Lube Hubs and Durable Steel Construction

The included idler hubs come with the common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and use inner L68149 and outer L44649 bearings with 10-19 seals. Grease zerks on the E-Z Lube spindles make servicing easy so you can keep rolling without teardown. Heavy-duty steel arms and a black powder-coat finish stand up to corrosion and road grime for long-term durability and smooth performance.

Note

This Axle-Less system requires crossbeam support. If your trailer frame doesn't have a crossmember in place, you can retrofit it with one, or you can add a support by running a piece of 2" x 2" steel tubing through the square holes cut into these units. You could also add a steel reinforcement bracket to the inside of the trailer frame.

Very smooth pull. I'm very impressed on how the trailer pulls. My traditional axle trailer seemed to bounce a lot on the highway which made a lot of noise, but with the Timbren Axle-less that I installed on a new trailer, the trailer is so smooth and way less noise.
Great product.

by:

I used these axles in a different way than most would. I needed a trailer that was small, could handle tight switch-backs, carry 600 lbs and be light. I had this idea and as a retired design engineer I saw a great possibility in this axle. I have made four of these trailers now, one as a camp trailer, 2 for trail work for State Parks and one as a utility trailer.

by:

The axle-less suspension worked very well for my boat trailer. The suspension was easy to attach to the trailer frame and provided a lower profile than the traditional leaf spring and axle system.

by:

Ashley was extremely helpful and quick to respond to my questions both via phone and email. Excellent customer service and quick turn around on my order.

by:

They did a great job communicating. I was evem offered an alternative item that was in stock, but ultimately I decided to wait for the backordered parts since they were heavier duty.

by:

Great product, super quiet while trailing on the road. Great for replacing dual axles and gives better options when you have a tire flat or hub issue. All of these are independent of each other.

by:

Just what I wanted. This is a great productions Etrailer did a great job thank you. We will be doing more business soon.

by:

Fast delivery, exactly what I needed to repair my boat trailer.
Good quality, easy installation...

by:

Awesome suspension! I’ve been towing my al. trailer with our atvs & dirt bikes and it’s always been a smooth ride. Love it!

by:

Item is just as ordered and was shipped quickly. My original order was lost in transit but etrailer worked with UPS to finish the claim and get me a replacement part for what went missing. Customer support was awesome and extremely helpful! Will definitely buy from them again!

by:

I was amazed at the attention given to me and my order. I was kept up to date untill my order arrived, it also arrived a few days before the expected time. The axle less system looks to be so much easier to install and more functional than the regular spring suspension. If compared by cost and labor to the other spring system, I find that this is considerably less. I have yet to install it, but will send photo of finished product as soon as possible.

by:

Still working on it but so far I am very please with my purchase

by:

Had a broken torsion axle on dual axle boat trailer. Manufacter six to eight weeks to replace. Got this product in week. Installed same day. Very happy .cancelled new Axel order.

by:

A little pricey but we will see. Could have provided a plate for the inside ended up spending another $200 for angle iron and bolts to install

by:

I rebuilt a 4 x 8 trailer using the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension and it works great. I would recommend it to others.

  • Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System Rated for Higher Than 2,000 Pounds
The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System, part # A20RS545, is rated for a total of 2,000 pounds. Essentially, it's designed to work in place of a suspension system and a 2,000 pound standard axle. If you need a 3,500 pound system use part # A35RS545 that has idler hubs with the same 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you want to add brakes instead use part # A35RS545E that includes the hub and drums, as well as the brake assemblies. There really isn't anything to retrofit. You just...

  • 5x10 Cargo Trailer Suspension Upgrade to Timbren Axle Less
When you say better suspension do you mean stiffer like to support more weight or do you mean something smoother so the trailer is less bouncy? Either way could you get me the axle diameter you have now or the capacity so that I can look into your best option? Most likely you are wanting it to be smoother which we may have a shock kit to help with.

  • Recommended 3500 lb Replacement Axle, Leaf Springs, And Hardware For Pop-Up Camper
For your pop up camper, I recommend the Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 89" - 3,500 lbs # e43SR. You will want to measure to ensure that this is the correct fit with the leaf springs at 74 inches from spring center to spring center. This axle has the brake assemblies and hub and drum assemblies already fitted, so you will just need to assemble and install. For leaf springs, you will want to measure from center of spring eye to center of spring...

If you determine you just want to replace the hub, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 # 84546UC3 or # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K if you have the grease zerk integrated in the spindle. • Availability Of BT 15118 And Timken 09074 Bearings For A 1950s Boat Trailer
Hey John, I am afraid that the info in that previous question you read is still going to hold true. The BT 15118 and 09074 bearing sizes are obsolete and are no longer readily available. Nor are there any suitable substitutes that we can offer. At this point I would have to recommend replacing the axle entirely since a new axle would use common bearing sizes and you will have no problem getting the right bearings, races and such. An option that we often recommend for older trailers is...

  • Help With Verifying Torsion Axle Angle Being Different From One Side Of Trailer To Other
You could be experiencing one of 2 separate issues or a combination of both. If the side at 38 degrees is the passenger side I have seen this a lot as that side of the trailer typically experiences the worst ride quality from damage to the edge of the road. It could either be the rubber torsion inserts inside the axle are worn and allows it to sit lower. You can verify this is the issue if the end of the spindle can easily be raised higher. You could also have a bent axle where the spindle...

  • Determining Which Replacement Leaf Springs and Bearings For 1985 Boat Trailer
I would be happy to help! Starting with the leaf springs you will need to know the width of the leaf spring, if it is a double eye spring or a slipper spring, the axle rating of the axle on your boat trailer, and the length of the spring. To determine the axle rating you will want to check the axle tag on the center of the axle, or if the tag is missing we can get really close by using the GVWR of the trailer. Hello Mike, We don't offer a thru-axle with that hub face and spring center dimension so I can't give a recommendation on that. What I can offer is an axle-less system that bolts onto the frame of your trailer and doesn't require a specific length of axle. The right one depends on the GVWR of your trailer, as you need a system with a rating that surpasses that. Hello Gilbert; torsion axles are not something we carry so we won't have a direct replacement. What I can offer is the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension which fits any frame width. This acts just like a torsion axle without the need for an axle beam. If I had to guess you either have a 2,000 lb or 3,500 lb axle on that trailer but you will need to identify it.
